The Workday Financial Business Analyst is a liaison between the Finance Department and the Workday Finance Implementation team.  In this role you will provide functional support to the Accounting/Finance team, lead the analysis and business case development for interfaces, enhancements and process changes, and drive testing and user adoption. The position will provide functional expertise and leadership in the design, implementation, validation testing of the Workday Financials platform.


 


Key Areas of Responsibilities



  • Serve as Workday Financials product specialist and collaborate with internal project teams and external resources to assess business needs and translate those needs into effective technical solutions that align with project initiatives.
  • Determine operational/functional objectives for assigned projects. Gather information, evaluate requirements, and solutions.
  • Assess the feasibility of system enhancements or process changes and their impact on Workday Financials and ancillary systems.
  • Author functional specifications. Translate ambiguous business problems into recommended concrete technology solutions.
  • Perform system configuration and application/report development activities or collaborate with other internal/external resources to accomplish required activities.
  • Author test plans based on requirements. Execute test plans and track defects/fixes.
  • Provide functional and technical expertise and recommendations in assessing implementation of project objectives, timelines and issues.
  • Collaborate with functional and technical stakeholders to improve data integrity, streamline processes and promote user adoption
  • Identify and analyze business needs, touch points and requirements and support the implementation and testing of Workday Financials Modules that include:



    • Core Financials

      • Financial Management and accounting,
      • Banking and settlement management
      • Cash management
      • Customer management
      • Supplier management
      • Financial consolidation
      • Business asset accounting

    • Planning
    • Procurement
    • Revenue Management
    • Projects
    • Project billing
    • Time tracking



  • Review Workday weekly service notes and major release notes to identify the impact and prepare for or react to new features and functionality. Support testing, regression testing, training, and communication of required changes in Workday releases.
  • Provide support to end-users of the Workday Financials platform, answering questions, resolving issues, and following through on any reported or unresolved issues ensuring timely and reliable response.

Education & Experience



  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Information Systems, Accounting/Finance or Business
  • Minimum 5 years Accounting/Finance or IT related experience and 2 years Workday Financials experience including at least 1-2 full deployment/implementation projects
  • Extensive experience with Financial Systems and MS Office required, ADP experience preferred
  • Service industry experience preferred along with demonstrated customer service focus and sense of urgency

  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills with proven problem solving and organizational skills
  • Team player with strong communication skills and ability to build cross functional relationships across organization to drive business results
