Our client is a major apparel company that develops, sources and markets a diverse line of men’s & women’s apparel under its highly recognized signature brand.
 
The Senior Manager Raw Materials oversees raw materials from product development handoff into successful production and sets clear requirements for new fabrics going into the Supply Chain for production. This position also oversees lab testing of raw materials and finished goods ensuring that all activities within the laboratory are performed in compliance with internal written procedures, established standardized test methods and policies. This position requires hands on technical knowledge of raw materials testing and manufacturing.
Representative responsibilities:
  • Manage new fabrics going into SC for production
  • Test compliance for PPE fabrics
  • Partner with Sourcing to onboard, certify and manage RM in production (including CMT)
  • Oversee wash application from development into production
  • Troubleshoot production cycle issues
  • Originates action to improve the performance and compliance within the Laboratory.
  • Participates in personnel decisions (interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, promotion, disciplinary action, staff development, coaching and counseling) regarding subordinate staff
  • Leads specific aspects of a project and guide solutions for difficult problems.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of preventative measures / corrective action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Articulates information clearly - verbally, written, group presentations.
  • Write, revise or review SOP’s, analytical protocols, analysis reports, specifications, and controlled forms.
  • Review technical reports and protocols originating in other departments
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in management, Textiles, Industrial Engineering or related field is required or equivalent related work experience.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in apparel manufacturing required, including a minimum of 4 years leadership experience in quality management.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in textiles is required.
  • A minimum of five years in laundry is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Bi-lingual skills in Spanish and English is preferred.
  • Travel required to ensure consistency of RM in global SC.
