Our client is a provider of software solutions (HMI, Data Management, Data Acquisition, Analytics/Reporting, Soft PLC) in the industrial automation sector. They provide their customers with innovative software to optimize their industrial processes. As a dynamic, successful corporation, they are continually growing and expanding their team. They are currently looking for an experienced, motivated and strategic thinking professional to function as Sales Manager to their North American sales team.

In this role, you will report to the North American Managing Director and will be responsible for strategizing and overseeing all sales activities as well as managing the sales team.


Tasks and Responsibilities:



  • Generate business in-line with the company’s key Industries. Maximize the use of the company’s products to develop solutions that provide business benefits to clients
  • Independent Management and Development of the North American market as assigned by the company in-line with business needs
  • Proactive lead generation and pursuance of new business
  • Utilize ALL available business development techniques, such as (but not limited to) cold calling, networking, visits, industry associations, etc.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to date sales forecast
  • Technically demonstrate the company's software products
  • Maximize client face time (End User, System Integrator and OEMs)
  • Travel across the US/NA and occasionally to Europe

Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • Lead, develop and train the sales team
  • Develop and maintain a program for sound employee relations with sales personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Oversee the entire sales process from identifying prospects, cold calling, client visits and presentations/demonstrations to quoting and negotiating contracts
  • Create and maintain a dynamic sales plan with clear and actionable targets for members of the sales team

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:



  • The ideal candidate has a technical background in software engineering or/and industrial automation
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in driving sales growth with strong leadership skills
  • Experience in B2B selling of sophisticated software systems, ideally within the industrial automation industry
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to inspire the team
  • Knowledge of marketing and sales promotion techniques
  • Ability to persuade and influence others; ability to develop and deliver customer presentations; ability to create, compose and edit written materials
  • Work requires significant local travel to current and potential clients. This requires the possession of a valid state driver's license within 60 days of employment
  • Willingness to work on a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel
  • This role requires maintaining a professional appearance and promoting a positive company image.
