Fixed Equipment Reliability Engineer




Our Client, located in Lincoln, NE, is excited to announce its search for a Fixed Equipment Reliability Engineer.


Your role


The Reliability Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design of mechanical equipment reliability systems. This role will establish asset strategies and ensure proper maintenance programs are in place for all facility mechanical equipment.  He/She will provide general guidance to maintenance technicians for routine mechanical issues within the plant, and will also help troubleshoot any major issues that arise. He/She will assist in developing a mechanical library and will lead execution of the management of change program throughout the plant.


You will



  • Learn core technologies of the carbon black processes with goal of becoming a subject matter expert on mechanical processes
  • Ensure all assets are captured in the asset management system with a proper criticality matrix; define inspection criteria and frequency to ensure equipment reliability
  • Provide support in maintenance (preventive and predictive) processes and procedures being developed and executed
  • Own document systems and reporting on asset systems
  • Work closely with plant operations, maintenance, leadership and Core Tech personnel to resolve issues and develop solutions on mechanical issues
  • Engage with stakeholders in the design and conduct design reviews, FMEA and/or HAZOP's as appropriate
  • Gain knowledge to oversee welding / metallurgical programs to ensure compliance while supporting plant operations
  • Performs other duties as needed

You are



  • Knowledgeable in industrial plant maintenance programs
  • Strong technically in industrial mechanical equipment (blowers, pumps, steam & piping systems, solids handling equipment, etc.)
  • Able to effectively organize and prioritize a large quantity of work
  • Able to communicate clearly and equally well with plant management and plant operations personnel
  • Willing to troubleshoot equipment and "get dirty" and have strong hands-on skills
  • API certified and able to support plant programs
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines

You have



  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience, or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the job duties and responsibilities
  • Strong safety mindset
