Quality Assurance Manager

  • The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee all the food safety regulations, policies, and procedures for a food processing /packaging operation.
  • Enforce safety and food safety standards, policies, and programs including HACCP, SQF and GFSI, regulatory audits, food safety training programs, standard operating procedures (SOP’s), product inspections, and standardization work instructions.
  • Provide training for food safety and quality requirements
  • Will conduct facility food safety audits as well as manage third party audits
  • Monitor and verify activities to ensure that all products coming in and out of the facility meet food safety standards and SQF standards
  • Work closely with Operations on any food safety or quality assurance issues
  • Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed and documented correctly at all times



  • Bachelor's degree required, ideally in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology or similar.  Masters / MBA is preferred
  • 5+ years manufacturing as a food safety / quality assurance managerial role; must have experience supervising supervisors and a team of 10-20+ technicians   
  • SQF practitioner, PCQI and HACCP certified is preferred
  • Experience with implementing programs from scratch, writing SOP’s and improving the Quality Assurance and Food Safety department / team
  • Excellent verbal, and written communication skills
  • Hands-on, strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Food processing and or packaging manufacturing experience is required 
  • Extensive working knowledge with any of the following: HACCP, FMEA, FSMA, EPA, GMP’s, BRC, SQF, and OSHA regulations
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, six-sigma or other continuous improvement tools
  • Detailed oriented, good attitude, the ability to influence others and lead/direct others through training initiatives
  • Computer literate in spreadsheet, and word applications; SAP experience is preferred
