The Pricing Analyst is a highly analytical role that takes into account data from multiple sources to develop complex, dynamic pricing models that reflect margins based on competitor, market, and customer data.   As the Pricing Analyst, you will aid, determine and set competitive prices to gain market share and achieve revenue goals. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop strategies that drive sales and ensure that the company remains competitive. Will assess data from a variety of sources and use it to derive insights into pricing strategies and market trends. Use quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze competitor pricing and assess market share and margins to gain a complete picture of effective pricing strategies for the company’s offerings. Present findings to marketing team and sales management, translating complex data into actionable strategies and techniques to drive sales and enhance marketing efforts.


Essential Functions of the Pricing Analyst:

·       Perform margin and pricing analysis in order to support business initiatives

·       Monitor and update commercial price lists

·       Develop a system of communication, documentation, and review of internal and external comparative pricing data

·       Identify opportunities to optimize sales and profitability through pricing strategies

·       Confer with sales and marketing teams to develop proposals

·       Conducts market research and gathers competitive intelligence to develop and implement effective pricing strategies

·       Maintains historical pricing data on competitors

·       Coordinates and communicates pricing information for new product releases

·       Utilize business intelligence tools to identify potential opportunities to maximize sales and increase profitability

·       Develop and maintain pricing strategies and structures

·       Monitor market and industry trends to ensure that we remain competitive

·       Provide analytical support to the sales organization

·       Design analytics to help answer pricing and profitability questions

·       Deliver pricing projects related to specific product lines

·       Drive the research of new analytical methods and tools in pricing

·       Provide historical customer profitability to support bid development

·       Analyze requests for price exceptions

·       Execute day-to-day pricing analysis and activities




·       Develop and improve pricing tools

·       Provide reporting on pricing and other key initiatives

·       Continually review account pricing for profitability and identifies opportunities to enhance margin while maintaining competitiveness

·       Identifies process improvements using available systems, presents changes to management and coordinates implementation

·       Review and recommend prices with marketing

·       Measure and track ad hoc commercial initiatives above and beyond pricing

·       Travel, as required (<10%)



Professional Profile:

·  Bachelor’s degree, with a preference towards Finance, Statistics, Economics, or related disciplines

·  Strong business analytical skills with thorough understanding of how to identify and interpret raw data and turn it into something meaningful and relevant

·  Demonstrated ability to work both independently and among cross-functional teams with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize assigned duties and projects to meet deadlines and objectives

·  Capable of critical thinking and problem solving

·  Have the ability to coordinate multiple projects and an emphasis on attention to detail.




·        Minimum of 2 – 4 years of experience providing business analytics that can be clearly translated into actionable results with favorable impact to the business

·        Experience in building pricing and/or financial models

·        Experience providing analytical data and recommendations to internal operations

·        Experience with the packaging industry is a plus
