This client is a large global Cincinnati HQ property & casualty insurance company.  They are currently looking for a key professional for an Operations Consultant.  This person would maximize their insurance operations with business leaders and subject matter experts in defining user, system and project requirements for process improvements and automation enhancements.  A Bachelor's degree is required.  Lean and / or Six Sigma belt certifications, MBA and project management (PMI-PMP) certifications preferred. Candidates must have recent property and casualty insurance experience as a Consultant is required.  This client is looking for someone from a large consulting firm with experience with a BIG 4 firm or Accenture, Centric, Systems Evolution, or Sogeti.  The company is growing and expanding.  They offer excellent compensation plus relocation if needed.  Candidates must be US citizens or permanent green card holders, no sponsorship is available. 

Job Description


The Operations Consultant is responsible for partnering with the business to build and drive an innovative and continuous improvement culture at the enterprise level.  This role will engage and partner with business unit leaders and subject matter experts in defining user, system and project requirements for process improvements and automation enhancements.

Following are responsibilities and interactions critical to success:

  • Become a trusted advisor to our business customers in matters related to internal processes and operational efficiencies.
  • Analyze existing business processes to identify improvement opportunities.  Develop to-be process alternatives and fit-gap analysis.  Work with pertinent stakeholders to implement & sustain changes.
  • Develop and implement end-to-end service solutions based on Lean and Six Sigma transformation philosophies, concepts, principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Partner with business to build solid business case for change including cost benefit analysis.
  • Provide problem solving for issues that arise in day to day running of processes, both automated and non-automated.
  • Working within project planning constraints, communicating project risks and issues to the delivery lead and providing inputs to the change control process.
  • Supporting the operational teams during the UAT and rollout phases.
  • Develop and maintain end user training documentation and delivery training as required.


A successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Lean and/or Six Sigma belt certifications
  • MBA and Project Management (PMI-PMP) certification preferred
  • Property & Casualty Insurance experience
  • Ability to build credibility and trust within the organization
  • Ability to interact with various levels of the organization
  • Bring focus, purpose, and agility to motivate others to adapt quickly to changing business needs
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, break them down in to logical parts and offer options/solutions
  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, data analytics, workflow/process mapping and interpersonal skills
  • An aptitude for problem solving, with the ability to take a logical route to the source of an error
  • A self-starter who delivers high quality work and can adapt to new challenges, either on their own or as part of a team.
  • Prior experience in national consulting practice highly desirable.
  • Experience with Blue Prism or similar RPA tools is a plus
  • BPMN 2.0
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Adonis, Aris, Signavio or similar BPMN tool experience highly desirable
  • Design Thinking preferred
