Position Summary:
The Manager Strategic Analytics will work closely with members of the Marketing, Finance and IT departments. The analyst will be responsible for creating measurable campaign test designs, building statistical models (Regression, tree-based, time series and more), model implementation, and model monitoring, writing and maintaining SAS code. The ideal candidate will have a balanced background in both Statistics and Business Analytics. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: rigorous statistical acumen, extensive data programming and strong communication.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Define business requirements for Marketing Campaign test designs and model development.
  • Must have strong communication skills and experience understanding and translating analytical model results to business insights and presenting complex quantitative analysis to non-technical marketing/business executive decision makers.
  • Improve and assess business results, help improve sales, profitability and customer lifetime value through data mining and analysis.
  • Design, manage, and deliver statistical models, client analyses, such as customer profiling, segmentation studies, post-program measurement, and other ad-hoc projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Masters' Degree required in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Econometrics or other statistical discipline.
  • 2+ years’ work experience building statistical models.
  • Must be exceptionally detail oriented and conscientious about checking data and results.
  • Experience with experimental test design, modeling techniques and data mining.
  • 2 + years SAS experience required; R or Scala or Python strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of databases.
  • 2+ years’ experience querying large datasets via SQL.
  • Ability to learn the business and communicate with non-technical business partners.
Requirements and General Skills:
  • Hands-on knowledge of data analysis techniques, targeting, segmentation, predictive modeling, business and marketing metrics and score carding, campaign analysis, modeling and forecasting as well as customer profiling and other customer classification analyses.
  • Experience using techniques such as cross-sectional and time series analysis, analysis of variance, multivariate regression, factor analysis, predictive response modeling, sales response modeling, discrete choice modeling, data mining and visual analytics to analyze complex data sets.
  • Experience analyzing multi-channel marketing campaigns involving A/B testing, multivariate testing, and segmentation.
  • Evaluate the productivity and profitability of marketing campaigns and identify opportunities for improvement. Identify statistically significant changes in audience behavior.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable with pulling and coding data in the absence of an ETL team.
  • Comfortable interacting with Marketing is required.
  • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
  • 2 + years SAS experience required; R or Scala or Python strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience querying large datasets via SQL.
  • JNP knowledge a plus.
  • Enterprise Miner nice to have.
  • SAS Model Manager a plus.
