IT & Controls Systems Lead Summary: 
This Business Unit Corporate leader will provide direction and support to plant operations with respect to selection and installation of machine control systems.  Knowledge of automotive component quality system requirements, including in-process and final test techniques for assembly processes.

 Information Technology & Controls Systems Lead Essential Functions:
  • Provide expertise and support to Manufacturing Engineering personnel on major product changes and operations improvements projects.
  • Co-lead development of standards for machine PLC’s and electrical controls.
  • Support Launch Teams with respect to PC based control systems and advanced manufacturing engineering functions related to controls and IT systems.
  • Convert engineering test specifications to plant floor manufacturing test requirements.
  • Liaison between AME leadership and plant Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Documentation of ladder logic and other related programs.
  • Develop a 5-year strategy around development of systems and maintenance of systems included into the capital forecast.
  • Manage equipment vendor activity from concept through to installation in plant, including RFQ, equipment design reviews, run-offs, and run-at-rate.
  • Coordinate manufacturing and operations input into the product development process, including manufacturing feasibility reviews and PFMEA development.
Education / Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) is required.
  • Strong technical background in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering planning and controls systems.
  • Strong analytical tools – prefer six sigma trained or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of machine automation and assembly systems integration.
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Understanding of PFMEA process.
  • Technical Skills - Strong engineering background in manufacturing with an understanding process control systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Leadership - Able to lead others by earning their respect.
  • Project Management Skills - Organized management approach.
  • Must act with sense of urgency and be able to energize others to work the same to achieve organizational goals/objectives.
  • Able to travel >50% depending on project needs.
