Job Summary of the Electro-Mechanical Engineer:

Electro-Mechanical Engineer with experience in electro-mechanical design and release of modules for automotive or truck applications along with the knowledge of wiring diagrams and PCB layout is required to play a key role in supporting electrical architecture development and wiring diagrams for the battery management and related electrical system for one of our clients in the CA. This client is a globally well known brand for its petrochemical products and in this role you will be responsible for supporting the Quality and Reliability efforts (e.g., DFMEA, Robustness Assessments, Key-Life Testing) relative to electro-mechanical design and manufacturing. If you have good experience with Quality & Reliability disciplines such as FMEA, 8D, APQP and mechanical design and GD&T, then this position is well suited to you.

 

 

 

Responsibilities of the Electro-Mechanical Engineer:


  • Provide support in electrical architecture development and wiring diagrams for the battery management and related electrical system
  • Work on selection and specification of electro-mechanical components such as connection systems, fuses, wiring, contactors, flex cables, ICBs (cell interface boards) etc.
  • Review documentation such as BOM's, diagrams, sketches, drawings, procedures, notes, supplier documentation and data sheets for design feasibility and alternative sources.
  • Work with the Mechanical Battery Pack design team to allocate position and space for Electronic and Electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Conduct, coordinate, and track electro-mechanical root cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Work with purchasing department for the component procurement processes. And provide support for purchasing operations
  • Formally release work products (specifications, designs) into use, including appropriate internal and customer-specific sign-off and release steps for electro-mechanical components
  • Perform Technical Design Reviews with customer and internal staff. TDRs will be expected at the Concept, Detailed Design, and Production Sign-off stages.
  • Create test plans and support the execution of test plans for verifying electro-mechanical hardware.
  • Support the Quality and Reliability efforts for DFMEA, Robustness Assessments, Key-Life Testing relative to electro-mechanical design and manufacturing


 

 

Qualifications of the Electro-Mechanical Engineer:


  • Bachelors in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering
  • 4+ years of experience in electro-mechanical design and release of modules for automotive or truck applications.
  • Knowledge of materials, connectors, and packaging related to electronics/PCBs.
  • Experience with Quality & Reliability disciplines such as FMEA, 8D, APQP and mechanical design and GD&T
  • Knowledge of wiring diagrams, PCB layouts for manufacturabilityis a must.  Experience with Battery Management System (BMS) and related design rules is a plus.
  • Experience with projects where Functional Safety (ISO 26262) was applied
  • Experience with Battery pack design and Battery Management System (BMS) 
  • Experience with automotive or commercial truck OEM product release including including Engineering Release, PPAP and PSW processes will be preferred


 

 

Compensation of the Electro-Mechanical Engineer:
Salary Range:  $95000-$112000/ year, depending on experience
