We are searching for a CT Tech who has an understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology. Sensitive and reassuring approach to patients. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner. Computer literacy. Ability to work effectively under pressure. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Healing Environment principles of being professional, communicating effectively and attending to the environment. This is evidenced by work behavior which ensures safety, promotes dignity, respect, well being, and exemplifies healthy relationships.

The staff member must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed by pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric group.

Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks involve a potential contact with blood, body fluids, tissues.

Under the direction of the CT Coordinator, performs with minimal supervision a diversity of technical radiographic (CT) assignments, diagnostic and complex in nature, which require theoretical insight and experience. Exercises complex skill, judgment and knowledge of the principles and methods of the radiographic technical field. The CT Technologist shall have the ability to provide care to pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. Call may be required.

Responsible for the performance of computerized tomography studies with and/or without IV contrast enhancement, which include: brain, thorax or chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, extremities and assisting with CT guided biopsies and drainages. Follows NYSDOH Part 16 guidelines. Performs required QC activities.

Provides clear, concise instructions during procedures to patients. Provides discharge instructions to calm and relieve stress for patients. Assists physicians in performance of invasive procedures and practices sterile techniques and infection control. Promotes customer satisfaction by identifying MD and patient/family needs.

 


REQUIREMENTS:

AAS degree in Radiologic Technology or Radiology Technology in AMA approved school.

NYS license;ARRT required
