The Application Support Specialist reports to the Information Technology Manager.  This position is a critical part of our clients team by providing support, testing, implementation and troubleshooting for business critical applications including but not limited to ERP, business intelligence, and Salesforce.com.   This technical and analytical role will be responsible for supporting key components of the business in the definition, development and implementation of business technology solutions and for maintaining systems.  In addition, this position provides assistance to other members of the IT team for network support.  This is a small team so if you are growing a career it is a great opportunity to learn new technology and wear a lot of hats.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in maintaining ERP application, QAD
  • Administration of Salesforce.com
  • Administration of Cognos BI tool
  • Windows PC administration along with tablet and mobile devices
  • Administration of 300+ clients through Microsoft Active Directory
  • Maintain and support network printers, copiers and fax machines
  • Support and troubleshooting of remote site networks, printers and file shares
  • Design, develop and maintain backup strategy alongside other team members
  • Assist in the maintenance of applications in coordination with business groups and Information Technology
  • Answers helpdesk calls and tickets
  • Creates and maintains system and user documentation.
  • Trains users in related systems and processes
  • Reviews system security administration activities to ensure appropriate level of access
  • Will require occasional after hours and weekend support
  • Travel 5%
 
The Current Team:
The Information Technology Department is responsible for supporting and maintaining all aspects of technology company-wide as well as spearheading new technology initiatives. The team, which is based in Pittsburgh, is comprised of the following personnel: IT Manager, Network Administrator, Systems Administrator and outside contractors. 
 
Resource Profile:
The ideal candidate will be able to maintain an array of applications in a fast paced environment while always looking to improve upon existing systems.  Additionally, this person should be well versed in current “best of breed” technologies with an understanding of how systems interact with one another.  The ability and willingness to work in a team atmosphere is a must.
 
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Computer Science / Information Systems or related field
  • 2 + years administrating Salesforce
  • Experience with ERP applications
  • 2 + years’ experience in IT administering Windows environments
  • Proficiency in Windows 7/8/10 and Office 2010 – 2016
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Remote administration
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail
  • The ability to prioritize, self-manage and seek help when necessary
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Travel 5%
 
Nice to Haves:
  • A+ certification
  • Experience with BI software
  • Knowledge of QAD enterprise applications
·        SQL or Progress 4GL knowledge and experience are a plus
·        Previous employment in the manufacturing industry
